About Us

I’ve always been inspired by movies like Patton, Battle of the Bulge, and Saving Private Ryan. These movies captured the heroism of the Greatest Generation in the most expansive struggle against tyranny the world has ever known. With those movies I fell in love with the classic look of the Army pinks and greens; a uniform that symbolized the best of the American Soldier.

For my generation those uniforms were from a bygone age, limited to reenactors, swing-dancers and a disappearing cohort of veterans.

All that changed with the adoption of the Army Green Service Uniform. Embracing its heritage, the Army brought back the classic style from the era of its greatest battlefield victories.

However, I wasn’t satisfied with the footwear that was available. All I could find were heavy, thick rubber soled, artificially semi-glossed shoes that wouldn’t take a shine. Non-military brands didn’t carry anything in Heritage Brown. Luxury shoemakers wouldn’t return my emails.

That’s when I remembered my time deployed to Central America. I remembered a region with skilled craftsmen, desperate for economic opportunity to increase the quality of life for their families. Did I want “Made in China” or “Made in the Americas?” It was an easy choice.

That’s how US Heritage Attire was born. The result is a high-quality, handcrafted leather shoe suitable for the boardroom or the parade field, color-matched to the AGSU Heritage Brown and resoleable for life. These are shoes whose quality matches the fine heritage of the American Soldier.
